This story is a contemporary romance about a former pinup model who now dreams of becoming a published writer and a stockbroker she meets while she is traveling.
Sydney Wagner is traveling by car to the Passionate Prose Writing Convention in Kansas City. Along the way she has car trouble. She stops and discovers she has blown a tire. She starts to replace it and hears an approaching vehicle. A truck stops, a man walks up and he offers assistance. He is 6' tall, blonde, broad shouldered, with steel gray eyes. He is Peter Kane. Peter finishes changing the tire for Sydney. They go out for breakfast. Peter's attraction to Sydney is immediate. Sydney proceeds to her convention. Once home, Sydney finds herself thinking of Peter.
The relationship between Sydney and Peter has an interesting hot and cold quality that heightens the anticipation of what is going to happen between these two characters. Peter was surprised by his instant attraction to Sydney. Sydney didn't want to be involved in a relationship. Peter basically wears her down by courting her, surprising her, teasing and tempting her. These characters are great fun. I recommend this book to everyone.
