As a bounty hunter, it was Sable Taylor’s job to bring in rogue vampires. Secretly, she worked as an undercover agent to stop a traitor from selling government secrets, specific pertaining to the vampire race. For two years she strived to find this person, and she’s no closer to her goal than when she started. Her frustrations only start to peak when Derek, a special task force agent she has lusted for from afar, burst upon the scene, distracting her from her duty. Not only do his actions confuse her, for he is not a one woman man, her past comes back to bite her.
Sable has haunted Derek for two years. He watched and learned from her but always at a distance, for she hardly stays still long enough for him to talk to her. And at each meeting, the urge to make her his grew until he couldn’t resist. All but kidnapping her, he doesn’t have to work hard to seduce her to his way of thinking. But instead of working her out of his system, his body started to crave hers.
Determined to get her job finished without blowing her cover, Sable pushed Derek away. Instead of complying with her wishes, Derek pushed back. And as the heat between the two increased, Sable can’t help but be grateful for his insistence. Passion changed to love and both realize they would do anything to make the other happy. Instead of joy, Sable fears his past. What has she to offer a 700 year old vampire to keep his interests from straying? As the danger increases, Sable and Derek end up fighting each other and themselves. Will their choices cost them their love?
This short novel is both action packed and entertaining. Derek is an ultra confident man, his only vulnerability is in his loving Sable. I adore a man who loves a woman enough not to hold her back and let her take a risk. Sable is so self assured, the interactions between the two are electric. Silvia Day will definitely be on my must buy list in the future. From dodging bullets, hiding from one another, to hunting a traitor, and white hot seduction, Misled is not a book to be missed.
