KISS OF THE NIGHT by Sylvia Day

Bree is a politician well known for her advocacy of the vampire cause. She has finally managed to claw her way into a political position that would be helpful, and tried to use it for good. She knows that there are many that don’t have the same views as her, and they are determined to get rid of her, one way or the other. That’s why she’s left with no choice but to hire a smuggler to take her back to her home world.

Alex is a vampire and a well known smuggler, and he’s always admired Bree for the way she stands for what she believes is right. He couldn’t wait to meet her, and had planned it down to the last detail to win her trust. He only wants to help her, but he’s got secrets of his own, and that includes his feelings.

Alex and Bree have an instant attraction that’s they can’t fight, and to top it off they think that they might have fallen in love. But do they trust each other enough to tell the truth about their real missions, not to mention their feelings for each other?

I thought that this story had a lot of potential, but any type of story line was quickly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of sex that was in it. These two were in bed from almost the moment they met, which didn’t allow much time for character building. Bree was a powerful woman, in both the career she chose and her intelligence and decisions. Alex had a history to overcome and was sometimes insecure about what Bree was feeling for him. Kiss of the Night was fun to read though, and kept my attention throughout, because I wanted to see what happens to Bree in the end. Kiss of the Night is fun read that will keep you entertained until the end.
