GOD IS IN THE HARD STUFF by Bruce Bickle and Stan Jantz

It’s no secret this world we live in is ripe with evil. Daily news bombards the public with reports of acts of hate, evil, and despair. In addition our natural world seems to be protesting in anger with wicked hurricanes, violent earthquakes and ferocious storms. Sometimes it seems there is nowhere to turn, no answers, nothing. GOD IS IN THE HARD STUFF addresses these issues with common sense hope-filled answers.

Using the book of Job from the Bible as their premise, authors Bruce and Stan pull no punches in explaining the hard stuff of life. Fortunately, their answers aren’t full of happy fluff or scripture laced easy answers either.

There are 41 short chapters in this small hard covered book – covering everything from When Life Doesn’t Seem Fair, When A Marriage Goes Back, A Mother’s Anguish, and The Problem of Pain, Does God Still Heal, Good Grief and Will Your Pet Be in Heaven. But this is just a sampling of difficult subjects covered.

At the start of every chapter is a quote from a famous person or a scripture and at the end of each chapter is a bulleted list of practical take always from the chapter.

SAMPLE

Where is God When We Suffer? Chapter four Six Paragraphs and the hard stuff list.

There’s Something About the resurrection that requires crosses. Robert Sloan.

Where is God When We Suffer?

Fifth paragraph: “When we ask, “Where is God when we suffer?’ we need only look to Christ who suffered for us so that ultimately, in the life that follows this temporal existence, we won’t have to suffer. Meanwhile, we live imperfectly in an imperfect world. We see through a glass darkly, knowing that someday our tears and pain will be removed…for good.”

The Hard Stuff List

Never forget that God knows firsthand what it’s like to suffer.

God’s will is not always the easiest, but it is always the best.

Sometimes God chooses the most unlikely method to accomplish his purpose.

Any good we experience comes from God.

Any good we experience here on earth pales in comparison to what awaits us in eternity.

Bruce Bickle and Stan Jantz are best known for the international best seller God Is IN The Small Stuff. Now, as the world struggles with the ravages of hurricane Katrina, Rita and the tsunami, God is In The Hard Stuff strives to answer those questions and heal some of the wounds.

Authors Bruce and Stan say, “People need to sense God’s comfort and presence. We believe this book can help them find a spiritual perspective on what has occurred and what will follow.”

Barbour, the book’s publisher is printing a special hurricane relief edition of God Is In The Hard Stuff in paperback. This edition is free to Katrina victim and will never be a sale item. Publishing cost and royalties for the 100,000 copies of the book are being donated by Barbour, Bruce and Stan as a gift for those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
