ARROW OF THE HEART by Janet Quinn

Sheriff Jesse White Feather had an unusual case on his hands. The young woman unconscious in the hospital bed was found not far from town with an Apache arrow in her back. Not just any arrow but one with the markings of Jesse's family on it.

This unknown woman dressed in buckskins and looking as though she had come out of a wild west show was a mystery, a mystery Jesse had to solve for more than the obvious reasons.

Somehow in this never ending mystery if of life Cassidy Howard had managed to escape an attack by a renegade band of Apaches across what was then known as Indian Territory and leaped into present day! Trapped in a strange world with no clue how to return to her time Cassidty couldn't very well tell her story to anyone since it was hard for hr to believe it. No one could believe or understand, no one except for Jesse's grandfather. Seems he knew the legend of the woman who vanished into the dust storn and was never found again. Many believed it was just an old story Jesse's grandfather knew it was true. His grandfather was the one who shot the arrow in Cassidy's back was his arrow that Jesse saw the markings on.

Could it be just an old tale started long ago? Could there really be truth in someone being whisked in a dust strom and leaped years ahead of time to another life? That's for the reader to decide. I know it is a great story and I find Cassidy Howard a woman far ahead of hr time and very much a modern woman of today. Her courage, and determination are so strong they endear her to readers from the beginning of the book. I like how the legend is weaved into the story to add just enough twist tot he plot that will keep you reading to find out the outcome. Will she find life in this time or will she search for the way back to the life she left? Ahh read the book and see you will not be disappointed.
