In the line of the sort of flashy lezines, ALIGN probably has the most subdued cover. And this is a good thing. I showed the zine to my husband, son and son-in-law. None of them are big magazine readers so the ‘zine’ draw the fact that it’s a bible that looks like a magazine wasn’t a huge hit with them. In fact, if you read reviews on the internet, lots of people don’t like the ezine. But, I like Thomas Nelsons’ thinking in making the Word readable to everyone. Seems like some folks are more into worshiping the book than the Lord and that, in my opinion is wrong.
My men did like the easy way the bible read, and they liked the extra information. The cover promises information on things like Sexess: Success with the Opposite sex, Learn to Prosper without Cutting Corners, Maintenance How-Tos for Life and Faith, and top ten lists. But the biggest ‘seller’ was the Get Aligned: Centering your Priorities and Fitness tips help Strengthen and Tone. All three of the men in my life are into physical stuff. Some are doing exercise to stay in shape and some, to get in shape. Either way, the appeal was there.
Inside is the easy to read NCV translation of the New Testament Bible- from Matthew – Revelation. Other sections include, but are not limited to: a

Included on the pages of the bible, are questions like Are there degrees of Sin? And Answers (page 79), sidebars titled GET ALIGNED that magnifies and amplifies selected scripture and Factoids, facts like: Seventy three percent of Americans Subscribe to cable television and 28% get their programming via satellite dish. The subjects are geared to coincide with the scripture of the pages they are printed on.
I plan on gifting ALIGN to a couple of different men for Christmas. It’s perfect for a Christmas stocking, as a gift for your Pastor, or husband, son etc. If you know a man who finds the formal bound Bible maybe a little too daunting, give him a copy of Align, it’s non-threatening and welcoming at the same time.
I love this slim Bible. It is not a study book, but certainly a magazine you can study. My grown daughter and daughter-in-law both have one, and with their busy schedules both can toss it their bags and read it as the day permits.
Easter is a perfect time to explore new bibles and this version will easily fit in the Easter Basket of someone you love (if you don’t keep it for yourself). With month specific calendars this also becomes a handy organizer. I highly recommend you get your copy soon.
