J.J. Massa’s,
BELONGING TO MacGREGOR, main character is a 270 year old ghost, Laird
Eian MacGregor. The only way he can obtain peace is to find his true
love and save her from danger. After years of waiting, Eian has given up
hope. That is until he spied Elsabetta Finlay. He had watched her from
afar, growing up from a child to a beautiful woman. What surprises him
most was Elsabetta could see and hear him. Could she be the one he
waited for, the one to break the curse? He could only hope, for he
didn’t want to live forever without her.
Massa writes a
compelling story of a second chance. I loved the idea of romance and two
lonely hearts reaching out to one another over time. I felt the short
story was almost too short, and that I was missing part of the romance
of a very good tale. Would I read it again? Absolutely. The main
characters are compelling and the story was entertaining.
REFLECTIONS by Sassy
Rebel starts off with an enchanted mirror and two lost souls. Miss
Phalendria Gunn was drawn to the mirror the instant she saw it at the
auction and knew she had to have it. But when she looked at the image
inside the mirror, she found herself swept back in time, into the arms
of a man she loved in another life. Mick Galloway dreamed of Phalendria,
a woman dead since the turn of the century. Determined to find the
truth, he tracks down the real Phalendria. When they met, will they see
only the past or what will they see what could be if they let themselves
believe?
Sassy Rebel tells of
a lost time and love. The story has a unique twist of showing us the
past and present, of two souls surviving, searching for a second chance
of love. The ending seemed rushed, but well worth the read.
Logan Blue’s, ZERO
CEMETERY LANE leads off with Nicole wanting to return to the vacation
home of her childhood. The instant she spies The Crystal Slipper, an old
abandoned house on the market, Nicole wants to buy it, and open a new
vacation resort. Against the town people’s warnings of ghosts, she does
just that. Nicole has dealt with ghosts in the past and has no fear from
the supernatural. But the instant she steps inside and finds the last
owners journal, she fears she might have bit off more then she could
handle. Are the hansom ghosts there to help her? Or do they want her to
join them for eternity?
Logan Blue has a
talent for mixing intrigue and passion. The only drawback to this story
is there are a lot of characters to keep track off in such a short
story. The mysteries keep the readers turning the pages, searching for
the answers. The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger and might frustrate
those who have to have all the answers.
