The last of the
Princes of the Outback needs a wife and he needs her yesterday. Alex
Carlisle needs to fulfill his dying father’s last request that a
grandchild be born within a year, or his and his brother’s inheritance
could be lost. He and his girlfriend Susannah agree to marry to fulfill
the will; they are compatible and there are feelings between them, but
their plans are waylaid by Zara Lovett, Susannah’s best friend. Zara
finds Alex and gives him a letter from Susannah, breaking things off
with him. With his mind racing over what chance to fulfill his father’s
will being lost, Alex realizes that Zara Lovett will have to do.
Zara thought
Susannah was crazy to agree to marry Alex Carlisle in order to meet the
deadline set forth in his father’s will. But upon meeting Alex she
realizes that Susannah might just be crazy for letting the man go. He
sets Zara’s body on fire with a simple glance and she’s seduced by the
chemistry they have together. Should she lead with her head or her
heart? Can she accept marriage to a man she barely knows? Can she keep
the secrets she has buried that she doesn’t want revealed?
The final Prince of
the Outback story ends this series just perfectly. The Ruthless
Groom is Alex’s story, and one I was anxious to read. The
chemistry is flammable between Alex and Zara. Each story in this trilogy
has been steamy and fascinating and I found The Ruthless Groom
to be the hottest of the three and a heck of a way to round out the
series. Alex’s penchant for chocolate was nearly this readers undoing! I
love a man who is addicted to chocolate as I am!
Ms. Jameson’s sure
hand with romance and amazing characters is continual and rich with
every new release from this author. The secrets that Zara protects lends
to the story, keeping readers curious and reading at a fast pace. I
truly enjoyed all the characters of this series, Ms. Jameson always adds
new life and her own dash of flavour to old storylines, capturing them
and making them her own. The Princes of the Outback series is a
wonderful example of Bronwyn Jameson’s talent and I hope there is more
of the same on the horizon. I couldn’t pick a favourite of the series,
but The Ruthless Groom didn’t disappoint after its
predecessors in this series.
