Snowball’s Chance ~
Cherry Adair
Unaware of a serial
killer stalking her, Kendall Metcalf goes about business as usual. As a
leading party planner in the business, a writer for the Seattle
Post-Intelligencer, she shouldn’t have a care in the world right? She’s
at the top of her game, enjoys life and this Christmas her life changes
forever. When her business partner and friend learns that Dwight, a man
who once tried to kill Kendall has escaped from prison, she hires Joe
Zorn to protect Kendall. Joe braves a blizzard to get to Kendall, and he
finds a passion that is totally unexpected.
Snowball’s Chance
is a great story to read this holiday season! Ms. Adair’s identifiable
humour and passionate chemistry between the characters will have
die-hard fans cheering and new readers to this author wanting more.
Kendall and Joe are great characters and 100% enjoyable. The perfect
lead in to this anthology.
Santa Slave ~ Leanne
Banks
Hilary Winfree is a
teacher’s aide, who mentor’s college students. Hilary connects with her
latest student, Christine, who agrees to take a job worth thousands of
dollars and lots of travel to teach foreign businessmen the American
ways. Hilary warns Christine that it all seems too good to be true, and
when Christine goes missing after taking on her new job, Hilary wants to
do whatever it takes to find her. Hilary accepts the same job that
Christine did, in hopes of finding her and bringing her home, however
she learns that they have both fallen victims into human trafficking.
Hilary finds herself the object of a businessmen’s pleasure, Rick
“Chameleon” Santana wants to buy her. Fortunately for Hilary, Rick holds
a few secrets that might mean real freedom for her and the other women.
Santa Slave
is a very intriguing and interesting story. Hilary is a strong heroine
whose heart is in all the right places. She ventures off to the
‘unknown’ to rescue her friend/student, and lands herself in hot water
of her own. I found that her strength was unwavering and she was a very
likable character. The chemistry between Rick and Hilary was steamy.
Big, Bad Santa ~
Pamela Britton
Dr. Kaitlyn Logan
might just have a huge breakthrough on her hands when she develops a
migratory chip, which can be implanted in birds to direct them in
specified directions. Kaitlyn runs an animal shelter and doesn’t have
the funds to do more testing on this chip so she writes to Senator
Prescott for help with funding from the government. It is a move that
might just cause Kaitlyn her life however. Her chip falls into the wrong
hands, she’s shot at and whisked away on the back of a Harley by Chase
Owens who claims he’s been watching her for days. Okay, so the whisking
away on a Harley with sexy Chase Owens might not be such a bad thing,
but he sets her body on fire like no other man has ever done, and
Kaitlyn needs all her sensibilities about her to stay alive.
Terrorists, sexual
chemistry and humour are found in Ms. Britton’s, Big, Bad Santa.
I found this story the best of the four and hope the author has more
stories like this at the tip of her pen!! Chase and Kaitlyn were an
absolute joy to share the holiday with. This is the perfect story to
warm up in front of the fireplace with, a cup of hot cocoa in hand and
simply enjoy. Big, Bad Santa is pure enjoyment!
Killer Christmas ~
Kelsey Roberts
Whose killing Santa?
It’s a question that plagues a reader while reading Killer
Christmas by Kelsey Roberts. It’s could be claimed the biggest
sin, killing Santa Claus, and I just had to see how this story would
play out. I was furiously turning pages and CEO of a large department
store chain, Meghan Beckham is at her wits end trying to figure out who
is killing the Santa’s for the store, and leaving the dead men on
display in the store’s front window. The last thing Meghan needs is a
stranger lurking around but one does show up, in the form of sexy, Jack
Palmer, her bodyguard. Meghan isn’t keen on Jack being around, but he
vows to keep her safe, while she vows that another Santa will not die
while she’s around.
Turmoil, intrigue
and danger linger in the corners of Beckham’s Department Store. Jack and
Meghan try to uncover who has it in for the Beckham’s and try to keep
those close safe. Chemistry is felt with heat and sizzle between Jack
and Meghan. For all their arguing and fighting one another, the
chemistry smolders and makes one sweat. Great story to round out this
anthology.
Christmas is my
favourite holiday. I enjoy reading Christmas stories and love sharing
the joys of the holiday with other readers. I recommend the Red
Hot Santa anthology to readers who enjoy a bit of suspense, joy
of the season, the wonders of love and happily ever after. Four
wonderful authors, with four great, connected stories. I do hope for a
story about Roz Donahue, the integral key in connecting these stories. I
found myself fascinated with her and her reasons for her crusade in
helping others. Danger, chemistry, intrigue and the holiday season are
entwined splendidly within this anthology. What a way to say Merry
Christmas this year by putting Red Hot Santa in someone’s
stocking!!!
