Leashed: Two for One Deal by Jet Mykles

On the run from a former flame and desperate for a protector, Meg decides to do a guardian spell in hopes that she can get someone to guard her. Guardian spells will call a shape shifter to help defend her until she can figure out how to get out of the mess she’s in. She’s a powerful witch, but her powers are wild and she was never very interested in training very hard to use them … only to control them. When her guardian arrives, she’s surprised to find that she’s called two, and they are not happy about being leashed. Forced to leash them for her own protection, she finds out that her protectors are a lot more than she bargained for.

There is plenty of sex, with a little M/M and a hot and passionate ménage in this wonderful story. This story is definitely worth reading, I loved all three characters, they were all likeable and I cared what happened to them. Told from Meg’s point of view, this is a great story about a woman who is powerful yet vulnerable, and the two men that end up protecting her for a lifetime.

Wolfe’s Gate by Raine Weaver

Red is terrified of thunder storms and finds herself caught in one out in the middle of nowhere. That’s when she panics a little and decides to stop at a house and demands to be let in out of the storm. Nothing, not even the hostile person who greets her at the door will keep her from getting inside that house. Even the intimidating man of the house and the odd party that seems to be going on only causes a minor hesitation. Once she steps inside though, she starts to wonder if she should have taken her chances in the storm.

Smart and sassy, Red is something else in this delightful story about a woman who is determined to get her man. At first intimidated by Gray, she finds herself attracted to him in a big way. She’s disappointed when he doesn’t take her up on her invitation, and decides to pursue him anyway. Gray is only trying to protect her from himself, but in the end desire takes over, until something terrible happens and they can no longer trust each other. I enjoyed reading this story, Red is a strong heroine that isn’t afraid to go after what she wants. Gray is strong as well, and when these two meet fireworks happen. This is one story that will not disappoint.

All Hallow’s Moon by Jeigh Lynn

Jill is late for her best friends Halloween party, but when she hits a dog in the road she decides that she has to stop and rescue it. Imagine her surprise when she finds out that what she’s saved is much more than a dog, it’s her best friends brother. He’s claiming that she is his mate, but that’s not possible, is it? If it’s not, what else explains this strong attraction to each other?

Jill is Dash’s brother’s best friend. When his brother comes back from seeing her, Dash is surprised at his reaction to Jill’s scent on his brother’s clothes. He finds out that she’s supposed to be at their Halloween party that night, and is determined to meet her. Anxious because she’s late, he decides to go for a run as a wolf. There is a surprise in store for all of them when Dash discovers that Jill really is his mate.

I had a great time reading this story, Jill and Dash seem to really hit it off. Jill is frightened of him at first, but in the end it isn’t the fact that he’s a werewolf that makes things difficult. It’s college; work, and life in general. That’s what makes this story so attractive. They seem to be real people with real lives, and neither one of them gives up their dreams for the other. If you like love stories with a twist, this is definitely one to pick up.

Howl is one of the best anthologies that I have read in a long time. All of the stories in this book could stand on their own without a problem. All three have their own little twist to the story, and all three captured my imagination and wouldn’t let it go. Even if you don’t normally like anthologies, you wouldn’t be disappointed with this one. From start to finish, Howl is a fantastic book that will make you wish there was more. After reading Howl, I’ll be on the look out for more from all these talented authors.
