Four years ago, Haley Farrell's life took a nose dive when tragedy struck. Struggling up from the ashes, Haley gets on with her life a little more battered and bruised, but stronger for it. Her fledgling interior design business seems like it has promise until the death of her beloved mentor derails her plans and lands her in the prime suspect role. With her knowledge of who DIDN’T commit the crime, Haley must figure out who did before the police lock up the wrong woman.
Haley Farrell in “Design On A Crime” had me laughing. Her nutty sense of humor and inability to keep her mouth shut made her a new friend. Filled with other wacky characters, Ginny Aiken has created a good read.
“Design On A Crime” is a well done, first person mystery. Haley’s view of life, while skewed by her experiences, is a realistic way one might see things after such tragedy befalls. Her walk through suspicion, fear and faith shows the struggle to accept how a loving God can allow bad things to happen.
I look forward to reading more from Ginny Aiken and eagerly anticipate “Decorating Schemes” coming in 2006.
