Nurse, Dana Malloy
enjoys caring for others. It's a passion of hers and she’s always put
others before herself. But it’s time for Dana to take a much-needed
vacation and she’s eagerly looking forward to it. Her plans helplessly
go awry, however, when she’s caught in the crossfire of a drive-by
shooting, leaving her wounded and a young man, dead. Dana wants justice
for the crime of a young man losing his life and the pain she was
caused. Yet, the police don’t seem to want anything to do with the case,
and she’s at the end of her rope waiting on the authorities to take
action.
Homicide Detective,
Jonathan Stone is a man that Dana normally wouldn’t have around, or be
attracted to. He’s everything that she’s always steered clear of, but
the attraction and chemistry is too hard to resist. She wants justice
for the drive-by shooting and no one else seems to want to do anything
about it, Dana hopes Jonathan can. But that avenue too is resistant to
help her and she’s nearly ready to give up. Then Dana is nearly run down
and she seeks Jonathan out for protection. Someone obviously wants her
dead but she has no idea who she has made such an enemy of.
Can Jonathan keep
Dana safe? Will they find the person who wants her dead before it’s too
late?
Deirdre Savoy’s
Body of Truth is a compelling read. Danger, unanswered
questions and sexual chemistry between the characters make this a must
read. Secrets come to light and three friends are portrayed wonderfully,
drawing a reader into this story. Jonathan and Dana learn a lot about
themselves in this story, they grow and become even better characters by
the end because of their growth and strength. Ms. Savoy writes these
characters smoothly.
In Body of
Truth, the past comes back to haunt some key characters and
shows that for every action, there are consequences, even twenty-five
years later. Mystery, romance, great characters and even better writing,
puts Body of Truth by Deirdre Savoy on my keeper shelf.
