Angelica Amante’s dreams seem within her reach. An upcoming junior partnership with a top New York law firm, nice apartment, and good relationship with her parents make life almost perfect. When she’s asked to compromise her principles on a high profile case, Angelica must make a decision which will shake up all the good things in her life.
Antonio Perez leaves his family in Mexico for a better life in America, he hopes. Can this faithful one find God’s plan in this illegal endeavor?
These two lives connect. How will each of them deal with their personal baggage, prejudice from others and the feelings they are beginning to have?
"The Winds of Sonoma" takes a hot political issue and puts faces on it. Nikki Arana has tackled illegal immigration using a balance of law and compassion. Well developed characters allow you to see a side of the story we might not have understood before.
Antonio’s faithfulness is a shining example for all who profess Christ. Watching Angelica’s blossoming faith shows the struggle people can have when they use someone else’s faith as their own rather than having a personal relationship with God.
There are many point of view characters which could be hard for some to follow. I believe it’s done well enough for a majority of readers to keep straight.
"The Winds of Sonoma" is a book I would recommend as a good read. There is no offensive language or sexual content.
