When Detective, Cara
Stevens sister is killed, Cara has tough decisions ahead. As a
Detective, Cara has always followed the law to the letter, but the
burning need to avenge her sister’s death plagues her relentlessly. When
the killer turns his sights on Cara, she’s ready to stand in the line of
fire, if it means catching her sister’s killer, as fool-hearty as it may
be. She wants something to fight, to take away her grief, but there’s
one person that won’t allow her space to fight back. The one man she
couldn’t, and shouldn’t, get involved with.
Police Chief, Luke
Devlin, knew that Cara Stevens was the only woman in the world for him.
Watching her go through the pain of losing her sister cut Luke to the
quick and he felt helpless to do anything. But when she is attacked and
the murderer roams to close to home, Luke takes the chance to protect
the woman he loves, even from herself.
Can Cara get past
her grief to let Luke in? Can they catch a killer before it’s too late?
Jade James is a new
author for me, but I enjoyed her work very much. Stalking Cara is a
great tale of passion, unrequited feelings with some suspense thrown in
to make it even better. From the first page, when the drama unfolds, a
reader is captured into the life of Cara and I found myself really
connecting and feeling the pain, the anger and the frustration that she
exhibits in the story. Ms. James penned a great heroine. While I would
have liked a bit more ground-work to Cara and Luke’s feelings for one
another, this story was enjoyable and I look forward to reading more
stories by this author in the future…especially if there are more heroes
like Luke Devlin.
