Lucienne has searched for the legendary race called the Dijinn for years, and her family has been searching for generations. None had ever succeeded, but she felt that this time she was getting close. Stuck with an incompetent fool her father insisted had to go with her to keep an eye on her , she’s at her wits end. When she finally comes across what she’s looking for, it’s more than she ever imagined.
Nadir has been trapped in his dull existence for a long time, and is resigned to his fate. When Lucienne shows up, he thinks its just another human out to enslave him, until the unthinkable happens.
In Scorched Destiny, Lucienne’s search for a legendary treasure is bordering on the obsessed. She’s alienated her family and is determined that she is going to be the one to succeed where everyone else has given up. Nadir is jaded from his many years in his prison, and has no hope for rescue. When these two meet, the sparks really fly.
Told completely from Lucienne’s point of view, Scorched Destiny is about a woman who has become obsessed with finding what her ancestors couldn’t, the legendary Dijin. Lucienne is a woman ahead of her time, which makes her very appealing in some ways because she is headstrong and capable for a Victorian woman. Not much is said about how Nadir feels, until the end of the story where you get an understanding of how frustrated he really is. The two characters hit it off right away, and from the moment they meet there is chemistry. For some reason I didn’t really feel the emotion between the two characters was that strong, but the sex most certainly was. Scorched Destiny is a great book to read if you are looking for a quick read to entertain.
