Abby is tired of her dull existence on her aunt’s Kansas farm. The day in, day out work just wasn’t for her, but she’s been reluctant to leave her aunt on her own. One day she finally gets up the nerve to leave, and packs everything in her mustang, including her wolf hound and tries to set off down the road. But fate seems to be conspiring against her, and everything seems to be going wrong. In the end though, she decides that it’s now or never and leaves. When she’s finally in her car and trying to leave, she sees the tornado in her rear-view window and begins to regret her decision. For some reason, the darn thing seems to be chasing her and she can’t avoid it. When it catches her, she blacks out. She wakes up into a strange new world, which definitely isn’t Kansas.
Kir is in his wolf form, and when he sees a strange contraption in his forest he investigates. What is this strange monster smoking in his woods? And who is that beautiful woman coming out of it? He’s the king of the area, and every thing in the land is his. He’s decided that Abby is his mate, whether she wants to be or not.
Two very strong personalities get together in this cute and funny adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. These two people have to learn that love takes giving from both sides for their partners to be happy. Abby doesn’t mind Kir dominating her in bed, but doesn’t feel that she can take being controlled out of bed too. Kir knows no other way, and will not bend in his refusal to let her live on her terms. When these two clash, it’s sometimes funny and sometimes tragic. I enjoyed the story and couldn’t put it down until I was through, and I think it’s definitely one you shouldn’t miss if you are looking for something different.
