If a movie star asked you to teach her how to be a nerd, you’d probably be somewhat offended, as was Flynn Granger when movie star Zoe Tarleton asked him that very question.
But Flynn knows Zoe well, being her attorney, so agreed to go away for a weekend, posing as a couple in a remote woodsy area where they would practice being nerds. Zoe needs to know how a nerd eats, dresses, walks, talks, kisses…
But it’s not as simple as it seems. Things start to go wrong -- dangerously wrong, and they can’t blame it all on the Bigfoot apparently sharing their woods. Someone – or something -- is out to get two friends playing at being a couple.
Or are they playing?
GONE WITH THE NERD was definitely a fun read. Part of me – the nerd part – wanted to be offended at Zoe’s perception of us, but I couldn’t be. I loved Flynn’s depth and ability to stick true to himself. He showed that being a nerd is so much more complicated than wearing plaid with flowers or being flat-chested.
Both Zoe and Flynn were good characters – deep enough to intrigue but not enough to spoil the tongue-in-cheek aspect of the story. At times the dialogue was slow moving but overall
I enjoyed the story and it made me chuckle.
