When he went to
Goldstone, Nevada, Sheriff Tyler Blaxton never expected to stay. Used to
the fast-pace in California, Tyler finds Goldstone very small and
small-town life overwhelming. But he’s come to help his sister Maggie,
when she suspects her husband, Carl, of cheating on her. Tyler plans to
somehow repair his sister’s marriage, get to the bottom of their
problems and have a man-to-man talk with Carl. What Tyler finds in
Goldstone is more than he ever expected.
Simone Chandler,
author of erotic romances, catches Tyler’s eye and Carl knows her, seems
rather well. Carl acts too strangely and too shaddy for his liking and
he begins to dig deeper into Carl’s life and his business dealings.
During Tyler’s ‘investigation’ he finds himself knee-deep in murder
however, and his visit to help his sister turns into much more,
especially when he falls for Simone. What secrets is Goldstone, Nevada
hiding? Is the love at first sight Tyler feels for Simone the forever
kind?
Jennifer Skully once
again pleases this reader with her latest release, Fool’s Gold.
Tyler is a charismatic gem of a hero whom I loved reading. A man very
much outside his comfort zone in Goldstone, he adapts quite well, even
when dealing with a sobbing sister, a mysterious brother-in-law, a sexy
as hell woman, and murder. This story took a bit of a twist, going from
the love at first sight romance between Tyler and Simone and his
sister’s crazy marriage to murder, yet makes the transition superbly.
The reader doesn't stumble in their reading stride with the change of
pace. In fact, I sat up straighter and knew the best was yet to come.
Throughout the whole story, I was tuned into the characters the plot,
and subplot, and highly recommend it for readers who love a whodunit
romance.
Fool’s Gold
is worth its weight in gold and more.
