Shannon Vaughn
wanted nothing but rest and relaxation during her Florida vacation
before starting her new job in France. After everything her sister,
Natalie, had been through, dealing with a dangerous crime boss just
prior to her vacation, Shannon wanted to be by herself and enjoy the
solitude. But her solitude is shattered by a gorgeous and sexy stranger
who she meets on the beach. Michael Courtland is a man she’s drawn to
and finds a few moments of passion in his arms. Their time together is
cut short, however, when she is kidnapped out of her hotel room by
another man who claims that he is Michael Courtland. As
Shannon tries to figure things out, she is drugged and spirited away on
a boat with no one knowing where she is. Who is the real Michael
Courtland and who can Shannon trust?
Michael Courtland
was sent to Florida by Lieutenant Dylan Creighton to protect his
soon-to-be sister in law from the criminals that wanted revenge on him
and Natalie. Michael feels it best to keep Shannon in the dark about who
he really is, and watch her from afar. But when they meet face to face
on the beach and their attraction to one another is undeniable,
Michael’s plan goes downhill from there. When he leaves Shannon alone in
her hotel room for mere moments, he returns to see her being abducted.
In pursuit and anxious to keep her safe, Michael soon finds himself on
the run and hiding, with Shannon in tow. As he and Shannon run through
the wilds of the nearest island, the attraction they feel for one
another comes to boil once again, but the fact that Shannon feels she
can’t trust Michael hinders their relationship.
Can Michael keep
Shannon safe? Can Shannon really trust?
Brenda Harlen’s
latest continuation from her first book, McIver’s Mission
pleased this reader immensely. Dangerous Passions is the
fourth book that connects to that first book and I think it’s the best
yet. Each book has been better than the last and the author’s voice is
stronger than ever. Shannon and Michael are an amazing couple who really
struck a cord with this reader. Shannon energy, her mistrust and the
woman that she is, was identifiable to me and her journey was one that
really held my interest. Michael complimented Shannon wonderfully and
passionately. His strengths and the heart of the man he is was the
attraction factor for him. Together these characters take their readers
on an adventure of danger and intrigue, plus that of new beginnings and
love.
Dangerous Passions
receives The Road to Romance Reviewer’s Choice Award for
its heart-warming and memorable characters and a beautiful flowing story
that holds a reader captive from start to finish. Ms. Harlen’s writing
continues to impress and leaves a reader eager for more of her work.
Action, adventure, love and a magnificent story is found within the
pages of this book. I’ve said it before, but will say it again; romance
has a real asset in contemporary romance author, Brenda Harlen. I can’t
wait for the next story by this author. Dangerous Passions
is highly recommended.
