Becky Tate, church secretary in a quiet little town, finds herself looking at the new preacher with admiring eyes. But what could bring such a man to her town and why doesn't he seem to fit the mold of a pastor?
Not only does a job for a client send Logan Malloy to Serenity, Alabama, but an old friend lives there as well. Perfect cover or possible tangle? Logan wonders, once he meets Becky Tate, how in the world he'll do his job without losing his heart.
Valerie Hansen has done a great job creating likeable characters and a cozy setting to “Her Brother’s Keeper”. Aunt Effie, the almost crazy aunt to Becky, could be related to just about anyone while Brother Fred would be welcome at any table.
Logan’s struggle against God’s plan for him and the war he has with his heart show strength and integrity. Becky’s faith is stretched yet not broken giving us a wonderful heroine to admire.
I recommend “Her Brother’s Keeper” as a good read for older teens and adults. There are no adult situations or language issues to worry about. Younger teens may be a little young, though, for this read.
