WOUNDED HEALER by Donna Fleisher

Chris McIntyre runs from life. Her past haunts her waking hours as well as terrorizes her sleep. She has no close relationships, including the one she walked away from without a backward glance after Operation Desert Storm. With nothing left and no one to turn to, the downward spiral seems inevitable. Death feels like an option.

Erin Grayson, a faithful believer in Christ, still prays fervently for the hurting friend who never said goodbye. For years she’s prayed for Chris, wondering what happened to their friendship. When a call comes in, though five years have passed without a word between them, Erin heeds the pull of friendship. She finds a friend not only in need of love and comfort, but more importantly, forgiveness and healing from deep scars.

Two women, survivors of wartime horror, bond and find peace through the love of a Savior.

Donna Fleisher has done a wonderful job painting a picture of one soul’s desperate cries for help. Wounded Healer strikes a cord showing how hopelessness can be turned into peace. True life situations are depicted in vivid color for the mind. Real emotions are felt for all the characters in this book.

I recommend this book for older teens and adults. Some situations are not suitable for younger readers. No language issues are present.

I look forward to reading the rest of the story of Christina McIntyre as she grows in life. Wounded Healer is a great start to the Homeland Heroes Series.
