What happens when six women, who don’t necessarily all like each other, get together once a month to eat and pray? In a small town, one never knows.
Meet “The Potluck Club”. Six women at varying stages of life, learning to cling to each other and their faith.
Evangeline, the president, has never been married, but has always carried a torch. Her niece, Leigh shows up on aunt Evie’s door bulging with baby and no ring.
Donna, daughter of Evie’s unrequited love, has a chip on her shoulder the size of Boulder, Colorado, not too far from their town. As deputy sheriff in town she tends to know things others wish she didn’t. When a mysterious man comes looking for a jewel, Donna learns forgiveness isn’t easy.
Goldie, married to a coach at the local high school, must put on a happy smile in the face of humiliation. Or is it a relief?
Vonnie has a secret which is about to come out of the bag whether she likes it or not. How it will change her life remains to be seen.
Lizzie’s faith takes a hit when the pastor’s wife shares her burdens.
Lisa Leann makes some mean brisket and sometimes even meaner comments on her quest to take over the Club. How will Evie take being wrested from her place of power?
“The Potluck Club” is so true to life you can put yourself in it without batting an eye. These women could be six in any congregation around the country and fit right in. “The Potluck Club” is filled with delicious sounding recipes and even more delicious descriptions. The journey of faith each woman takes shows we can’t ever be too comfortable in our walk with God.
Linda Evans Shepherd and Eva Marie Everson have done a wonderful job creating believable characters you cry with and want to shake at the same time. Well done, ladies. I’m looking forward to more tales from “The Potluck Club”.
