Redhawk Jackson has enough to contend with – a failing business, no
money to save it and a dead body. Rustlers have been stealing the cattle
from Irish Heaven, the ranch where he is foreman, and it is the only
home he’s ever had. What he doesn’t need is a stubborn Irish filly
dropping in and making things even crazier. He has no use for a woman on
the ranch, least of all the owner’s niece, who could one day own it all.
All Hawk wants to do is save the ranch, the cattle, and he never counted
on his heart being in jeopardy, and he fights to save that as well. He’s
a Hard Case Cowboy and no time for love.
Rhiannon O’Brannoch jumped at the chance to leave Ireland when she
received a letter stating her Uncle Fritz in Arizona needed her. She
headed to Irish Heaven eager to change her life and to get away from the
only home she ever knew when her deceased father left the farm to her
aunt. Her first impression of Arizona is that of a spaghetti western,
and was unhappy to discover an injured steer in her path, which she
never expected. Then again, an injured steer and misconceptions of the
lands have nothing on the unexpected, yet thrilling pleasure, of Redhawk
Jackson, who’s easy on the eyes and a mighty big temptation to resist.
Will Rhiannon head back to Ireland with, or without, her heart? Could
she find love with her very own Hard Case Cowboy?
Nina Bruhns’ writing shines once again with her recent release,
Hard Case Cowboy. Not only is this a charming and sexy read, but
it’s a non-stop thrilling ride as Hawk and Rhiannon try to resist one
another, but are incapable to stop it as well. Hawk and Rhiannon each
come from a past of ups and downs, hopes and dreams shattered, loss of
loved ones, but both are very strong individuals with plenty of
determination. We see both characters grow throughout this story and
fall in love with each of them.
With the splashes of intrigue as to who is trying to destroy Irish
Heaven, and the sparks that fly between our two main characters,
Hard Case Cowboy is an easy one to add to the Nina Bruhns keeper
shelf.
