EVE or Emergency Violator Equalizer is a woman who has been augmented with a computer chip in her head, making her the ultimate fighting machine. Lieutenant Adam B’Luven, who has been forced to work with EVE, wants to do his job without the aid of EVE. EVE’s help is not what he wants, but it is what he needs.
EVE is is more machine than woman. The modifications that have made her what she is have also stifled her emotions. EVE is determined to do her job, whether Lieutenant Adam B’Luven likes it or not. Unfortunately, EVE is unable to control her body’s reaction to Adam. EVE only wants to accomplish her mission and stop the madman that is determined to destroy humankind.
Adam has wanted EVE for a long time, and working with her is only making things worse. When the two give into the passion that is between them, Adam knows that he does not want to let EVE go. Finding out that EVE has been lied to about who and what she is makes Adam determined to help her. He is not going to let anyone else hurt her.
This charming story will capture you from the first word. Ms. Midway has created a wonderful tale of futuristic love. Adam and EVE are both determined to keep their hearts separate from the passion that erupts between them. The character development is excellent and you find yourself really caring about the couple. I enjoyed the story that Ms. Midway tells and will be looking forward to reading more from her.
