Tommy T. is
now all grown up, a comic book author and still the darling adoptive
son to
Angela. Unfortunately through the years, he and Jesse Brown Wolf, his
adoptive
father, have become estranged since Jesse played a part – so Tommy
believes –
in his brother, Stormy being arrested. These days besides his writing
comic
books, Tommy tries to preserve his Native American heritage by
collecting old
artifacts. At an auction he meets Cassandra Westbrook, who thanks to
his
mother, told her that he’d be a great mentor for her nephew Aaron, who
wishes
to be an artist.
As Tommy T.
mentors Aaron, he and Cassandra grow closer, and Tommy T. learns of
Aaron’s
secrets, ones that are disturbing and wants to mentor the budding
artist who is
extremely talented. But when Aaron is kidnapped and someone is
determined to
steal some artifacts from Cassandra’s home, Tommy T. finds himself
embroiled in
their family and determined to do whatever it takes to bring Aaron home.
Night Falls Like Silk, the sequel to The Night Remembers brings back many of the
favourite
characters from book one. Tommy T., who captured us then at age twelve
– going
on forty – is now a sexy adult whose ferocious protectiveness reminded
this
reader of his adoptive father, Jesse Brown Wolf in the prequel. Tommy
is a
mystery in many ways and intrigues his audience.
The
suspense and intrigue of this story equals its predecessor and Ms.
Eagle once
again shines in my book as a great romantic suspense author. The tension between Tommy T. and Jesse is
felt as much as the love between Tommy T. and Angela still, and even to
the
same capacity to his desire for Cassandra. Ms. Eagle writes with a
flare and
control over her characters like none I have ever seen.
Ms. Eagle
gives her readers everything they could want in this story. Don’t miss
this
great sequel to another extraordinary tale. See Tommy T. all grown up
and
falling in love, and mysteries that keep a reader guessing.
