Miranda Lane a successful romance author has hit a writer
a slump in her newest novel. A a number of romance hits, all set in the south both her publisher and agent feel she needs to explore another avenue, a new fresh hero and setting. A strong, virile, and down right sexy hero that will have women swoon.
Deciding she needs a change of scenery, our Southern bells packs up her laptop and heads North to Yankee country to stay at the condo of her old college roommate. With a deal line to meet and a story line to revise, Miranda had only little time to enjoy the sights of Connecticut. She hoped that the peace and solicitude would bring the inspiration she needed.
The inspiration came but in the name of one handsome Detective Chas Casey. Though Miranda's college "sister" had been trying to get them together since she got married it just never seemed to happen, Miranda always seemed to have commitments or something. It's Chas who becomes the hero of her novel and it's Chas who shows her how to really feel love, the love that
can move mountains and more. It's that love that enables her to write the steamiest romance novel of her career and find the man of her dreams.
I could identify with Miranda for there have been times I too have had that dreaded writers block. The characters are not only strong and carry the novel but her secondary ones add just enough spark to keep the reader amused. A great summer read and should be on everyone's must have list
