HUNTERS MOON by Bernadette Gardner

Alliana has finally managed to escape her abusive ex-husband, and has hidden away in a remote home that was left her in a will by a relative. She loves to jog around her property at night even though she’s been warned by her friends it’s dangerous, and this night she thinks it’s no different. But this time, she’s startled to hear a gunshot and an unearthly scream. Thinking that one of the drunken hunters that sometimes come on her land shot someone or something, she’s compelled to go help whatever cried out in pain after the shot, be it human or animal. What she finds in her search will change her life forever.

Alliana trusts no one, and has no reason to think that the strange cat-like alien she finds wounded and calls Adam will be any different than the abusive ex-husband she left. From the start Adam is different though, unusual looking and different acting. For some reason she is strongly attracted to the extraordinary being, and can’t help but wonder what would happen if he stayed permanently.

HUNTER’S MOON is told from Alliana’s point of view and her feelings, and the story line is unusual and captured my attention from the beginning. Alliana is a tortured character, who has a horrific past that she is struggling to overcome. Alliana’s fear and the way she tries to conquer it is a different twist that made the story very appealing. I would have liked to hear Adams side of the story, because I think I would have really liked his personality. Overall it was a great story, and it is definitely worth a try if you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary.
