Recently
developing on their own, the Cyborgs have freed themselves from the
persecution
of their creators. They seek to establish their own society and
colonize a
world they can call their own.
A woman
named Amaryllis is among the 'hunters' rescued, and discovers that she
is
expected to take no less than two, nor more than four, consorts.
There's just
one catch: she's not a Cyborg.
Amaryllis
was cybernetically augmented with prosthetic limbs to give her as much
of a
normal life as any of those deformed by the massive doses of radiation
from her
homeworld. She joined the military to get away, and found herself in a
less
than desirable situation, at the mercy of two very desirable men and
her own
emotions, that are very unfamiliar.
Will she
be able to come to terms with her desires and the new life that awaits
her in
the Cyborg colony?
Amaryllis
is forced to confront a number of things—from her own prejudiced
understanding
of Cyborgs to reflecting on what she really does want from life—and
those
too-magnificent men that seem to be competing for her favor.
She
grows as a person, throughout the course of the ship's journey to their
new
colonial home, and even after she tries to settle in, she runs into
other
obstacles from her lacking domestic skills to overcoming her reticence
about
the three men she loves in very different ways.
This
reviewer finds Cyborg to be an
excellent continuation of the tale she began in Abiogenesis
and is charged with emotion, sizzling sex and a damn
good story too. These are definite keepers for the serious fan of
sci-fi
erotica!
