Brittney
Massey, a small-town rancher’s daughter, keeps her singing persona, Kat
Boutie,
apart from her daily life. But her two worlds collide when she becomes
involved
with Lucas Cortine, a mafia kingpin who vows to keep her for always.
When she
witnesses Lucas’ involvement in a DEA agent’s death, Brittney tries to
contemplate how she could have been so wrong about Lucas. She loves
him, but
can’t equate the man she loves to the man others fear. Who is Lucas
Cortine?
Will Brittney listen to her heart or what’s right?
Jewel Adams pens an interesting tale with some
surprises along
the way in Creole Blues.
Brittney is a strong, yet fragile heroine who readers should enjoy. The wonder and bit of mystery over who Lucas
really is, was interesting, but in the beginning I feel it was overdone
to the
man we believe him to be. He was very high-handed and too controlling.
For
this, he lost points in my book.
Ms. Adams
writes with a talented pen, as I have read her works before, but Creole Blues, while good, for me,
wasn’t as good as her previous work. Lucas played a large part in that.
I felt
we didn’t really get to know him or the secrets he kept close. There
were some
unanswered questions. All in all, Ms. Adams is a writer I do enjoy. I hope for better results though, in book
two, Undercover Love, coming
soon from this publisher.
