Jessica Grace Charles is involved in a terrible accident that takes the life of Attorney Derrick Madison’s mother and lands Jessica in the hospital in a coma. Not satisfied with the care she gets at one hospital, Jessica’s mother prayerfully has her daughter moved. At the new hospital Jessica’s new doctor is Gregory Dixon.
As soon as Dr. Gregory Dixon lays eyes on Jessica, he is smitten. It doesn’t matter that she’s comatose and certainly not looking her best – Greg is drawn to her. He holds her hand and notices her full name is Jessica Grace Charles and begins to refer to her as Grace.
Derrick and Greg have been friends all their lives. They’ve gone through good times and bad times. But when Derrick discovers his best friend is going to perform a life saving operation on the very woman who killed Derrick’s mother he can’t believe it and ends their friendship.
Gregory takes care of Grace and prays that the Lord will heal her and heal his relationship with his best friend. He knows the Lord intends everything for good and trusts – even though he can’t see it – that she will be his wife and Derrick will one day be his friend again.
With an easy writing style and compelling storytelling, Ms. Norman-Bellamy gives us a story of friendship, hope, faith and love – God’s love as well as human love. We don’t understand how on earth Derrick is going to get over his overwhelming grief to again befriend his ‘traitor’ friend, or how Greg can just let the life long friendship loose – over a complete stranger – but we are eager to find out if and how it all works out!
This book was first self published and I’m not surprised that BET Books decided to publish it in their New Spirit line. I will be looking for more from this talented author.
