A marriage between two strangers, a promise fulfilled. Adianna has never met the man she is to marry, but in order to save her people, she must carry out her duty. Rydon agreed to help his bother, but never expected to fall in love with his prisoner. Adianna and Rydon will have to decide which is more important – love or duty?
Adianna is not happy with her father’s plans for her future. Adianna wants a marriage based on love, not duty. But in order to help her father and the people in their kingdom, she will marry a man she does not know. Taken prisoner while on her way to meet her betrothed, Adianna finds herself attracted to the Captain of the pirate ship. Rydon is everything Adianna wants in a man; too bad he is a pirate. When Adianna is returned to the man she is to marry, she can not help but think of Rydon. Finding out that Rydon is not who she thought he was makes Adianna determined to fulfill the promise her father made.
Rydon understands his brother, Crown Prince Marsus’ desire not to marry a woman he has never met. Helping him with his silly plan is not something he wants to do, but he will. Adianna is not what Rydon expects. She is very beautiful and he desperately wants her. Falling in love with Adianna is an undesired complication that hurts Rydon to the core. How can he be in love with the woman he brother is to marry?
This is a very compelling story. I enjoyed the inner conflict that Adianna and Rydon both faced in the decisions they had to make. The love between the two is deep and the sexual chemistry is intense. The author does a wonderful job in showing how an unexpected love can affect plans. I would recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a steamy historical romance that will not only keep your attention because of the passion between the two lead characters but that has an interesting story you will hate to see end.
