Sarah
Wellsley is accompanying her cousin, Lady Caroline to meet the Alex,
Marquess
of Caldern. It is expected that the
Marquess will be proposing marriage to Lady Caroline.
Alex is looking for a wife and Lady Caroline
fulfills his requirements. Life throws a
wrench into his plans when he meets Sarah.
His problems increase when it appears someone wishes
him dead as
accidents beset him.
Sarah has
been through one unappetizing marriage and has no plans to marry again. She is content with her life and wants to
pursue her interests without having to compromise or answer to a
husband. Sarah appears demure but there is
a backbone
of steel behind the façade. Alex is
not
interested in a love match for his marriage.
He wants a business arrangement and Lady Caroline
fits that idea. Alex is a man who doesn’t
believe in love
until he falls for Sarah. Sarah is the
one who is pushed and pulled by Alex into a relationship.
She is quite content with her life, though Alex
does make her body tingle. It is a
battle of will, as Alex has to overcome Sarah’s past.
The
Seduction of Sarah
is a character driven story. Though
there is a subplot of who could be trying to kill Alex, the central
focus is on
Sarah and Alex. How these two come
together and how they face their problems is dealt with throughout the
book. The mystery of who is trying to
kill Alex is solved by the end and the identity was a surprise for this
reader. The Seduction of Sarah is
aptly titled as it vividly describes what Alex is trying to accomplish. It is a lovely historical romance that will
warm your heart.
