When Jewel Dublin and Vince Santiago wake up to discover mysterious bottles in each of their separate homes, they are stunned to find genies inside. Even more shocking is what these genies do; instead of granting wishes, Jewel and Vince are swept onto a deserted island with only each other for company. What they don’t know is the genies, Jennie and Luke, have brought them together for a reason. Jennie must successfully help one relationship, or be trapped in a genie bottle. To ensure their own future together, the genies help Jewel and Vince rekindle their passion and love for each other.
Vince knows the sexy woman covered in seawater looks familiar, but he can’t quite place her face. Jewel, on the other hand, immediately recognizes her ex-boyfriend Vince, and is incensed to find that he doesn’t recognize her. To avoid a confrontation with him, she tells him her name is Jane. Jane and Vince must figure out how to get off this island, how to thwart two interfering genies, and how they really feel about each other, before a three day deadline expires and dooms all of them forever.
This book was silly, illogical, and also very strange in some places. It seems to revel in showing every kind of sex position imaginable, including a very creative and erotic scene with fruit. The final sex scene of the book may be disturbing to some readers, as it involves a magical sex change and a threesome.
To me, the majority of love scenes between Jewel and Vince were rather repetitive. Each scene basically had three steps:
Step 1 - Jewel says, “No, no, no,” but gives in anyway with a bit of domination from Vince.
Step 2 - The couple has page-burning sex.
Step 3 - Jewel becomes upset and runs away from Vince.
There were parts of the story that I found to be unbelievable. For example, Jane/Jewel looks different from before because of a severe accident she had four years ago. For some reason, however, she is totally shocked when Vince recognizes her because “Vince Santiago” is tattooed on her buttocks. How anyone could forget that they had another person’s name tattooed on themselves is a mystery to me. Between incidents like this, the genie’s antics, and Jewel’s constant hysterics about having sex with Vince, I became fed up with the characters and the book.
WARNING: Contains anal and oral sex, mild domination and submission, spanking, multiple partners, voyeurism, and a brief sex change.
