It’s rumoured that the Earl of Heatheringham was murdered back in 1807, and has haunted The Red Lion, a coaching inn, ever since. Kate is determined to reveal the hoax behind the haunting, and prove that ghosts aren’t real. A mysterious figure appears in the darkness of her room, and proceeds to prove to her that ghosts and dream lovers do exist.
This short story is entertaining, amusing, and very, very hot. I really enjoyed the dialogue, and the chemistry between the two characters is so erotic that it will burn out your computer screen. My only complaint about the story is that it ended too soon; 20 pages are only long enough to tease you with the characters and their backgrounds. I want to know what happens next! This story is so good that I feel compelled to check out O’Connors other books.
This is one of the first stories to be published for HeatWave Romance, in their new HeatWave Tingle line. If this story and this author is an indicator of the quality of writing to come from this publisher, I’d say we’re all in for some very good reading.
WARNING: Contains explicit sex.
