Carlisle, Illinois, modern times. Amanda Winslow moved to Carlisle
six months ago, after being acquitted from killing her husband Michael. All she wanted to do now is forget about the
last year and move on with her life. She just didn’t know how Jack
Lindsey knew
there was something Amanda was not telling him.
He kept on asking questions, but Amanda never gave
him straight answers. Amanda knew
she should tell Jack what really happened, but every time she was
prepared to
do it, he would push the wrong button, and she would get upset with him
and
shut down. Jack was very attractive to
Amanda, even more than her husband was.
Jack
Lindsey was very attracted to Amanda. He
thought that Amanda and his business partner and best friend, Wade had
something going on, and was jealous. He
knew he was pushing Amanda’s buttons at times, but wanted to know what
she was
not telling him. He knew in order to
find out the truth, he would have to do some research on his own.
Reading
Amanda and Jack’s story, was like watching a boxing match.
They both kept taking jabs at each other,
sometimes they made contact, and one of them was hurt, the other would
back
away. They knew they were both attracted
to each other. They also knew if they
didn’t put an end to their confrontations, they would never have a
chance for a future together.
I enjoyed Amanda’s
Rib. I like reading stories where
the female is able
to handle any situation she finds herself in, without coming across as
being
uppity. I also like the idea that the
male character can realize when he is pushing far more than he should
for
answers. This book will keep you guessing
until the end.
