WALKING AWAY FROM TEXAS by Sharon Bradley

Katie Mitchell, a high school senior, dreams of leaving Texas and moving to California, but her parents insist that she must attend college in state. Alan Thomas, her best friend since childhood, also has decisions to make about college and relationships.

Jaclyn, Alan's ex-girlfriend, is bitterly jealous of Katie and her special friendship with Alan. On the threshold of adulthood, Katie and Alan have mixed feelings about life, and about each other. Will their emotions keep them from making wise choices?

Although technically well written, I felt the story lacked conflict and a strong plot. I found a few grammar and punctuation errors, but the book was much better edited than many self-published books I've read. Recommended for teen girls.
