It seemed like everything was going great for Amelia Patton; she had a satisfying job, a wedding dress picked out, and a hot man waiting for her to get home. When she arrives to find her fiancé chained to the bed, at first she’s intrigued by the possibilities. When she realizes that David isn’t the same man he was that morning, she’s scared and runs away. David has become a vampire, and Amelia isn’t staying around to become dinner.
Fast forward to Christmas Eve… Amelia’s broken heart still hasn’t healed, and she’s doing her best to forget about David despite his efforts to contact her. David’s friends, on the other hand, have other plans for her. She’s kidnapped, and left tied up under the tree as a very naked Christmas present.
Angela Knight has a talent for writing scorching love scenes. Despite this, I can’t say I liked the whole short story. While I think the story had an interesting premise and many possibilities, I wasn’t sold on the romance itself. I felt Amelia’s fear and heartbreak, but I couldn’t understand why she gave in so quickly after being afraid for so long. I also didn’t like that David fell into the dominant role immediately after finding Amelia tied up. I would have liked it if he had tried some romance before going for the rougher stuff.
This was a good, but not great story from a terrific author.
WARNING: Contains bondage, mild domination and submission, and anal sex.
