Ophelia’s
father has lost the family home to the Earl of Rotherham in a card game. She presents a plan to the Earl: the deed to
her family home in exchange for the use of her body.
It is a scandalous proposition but the Earl
takes her up on the offer.
Unfortunately, Ophelia has presented this offer to
the wrong man. It isn’t the Earl but his
brother, Charles,
who has accepted. Charles has spent his
life getting his brother out of scrapes and he thinks Ophelia is
another woman
who just wants to latch onto his brother’s title and wealth.
Charles is
an unrepentant rake. He is a master at
the game of seduction. Charles has
always enjoyed women and Ophelia intrigues him.
It isn’t long before lusts turns into love. Ophelia doesn’t have a high opinion of
Charles but she will do anything to save her home.
Charles is able to tantalize her senses and
arouse her as no man has done before. She
is not in control of her body, as she can’t help but fall under
Charles’ seductive
spell. These two characters are fairly
well developed and the reader can thoroughly understand their
motivations. The eroticism is set on high,
and there is a
tenderness and warmth that permeates between them.
Although there are quite a few secondary
characters, the focus of this book is on Ophelia and Charles and the
road their
romance takes them.
Rogue
in Disguise is
a highly erotic and enjoyable historical romance. It
has two vibrant leads that will draw the
reader into their story and not let go until the very end.
If you enjoy historical romances with more
than a touch of erotica, then this one will fit the bill nicely!!
