Cierra Jade Connelly is a computer genius by day and a sexy bartender by night. She’s known as CJ Connelly to the male dominated computer world and Cierra Jade to her friends. The persona she’s having problems with, is Cierra_Jade, a female warrior character in an online RPG game, Ambrosia Tavern. She loves playing her role in Ambrosia Tavern, but her developing relationship with Orion, the game developer, had been hijacked by others wanting to take over his game site. She spent the last six weeks as CJ working for Ryan Foster, a.k.a Orion, on his construction company’s website and now that the job is finished, she’s ready to reveal her other alias to Ryan.
Ryan Foster felt deeply hurt and betrayed by Cierra_Jade in his online RPG game, Ambrosia Tavern. They had been developing an online love relationship when he was informed she was trying to sabotage Ambrosia Tavern. When he found out that she hadn’t betrayed him it was too late to take back the hurtful emails he sent her. Now, she has been working under his nose and he didn’t even realize it. Now that he knows CJ is Cierra Jade he’ll stop at nothing to win back her trust and love.
Cierra Jade can’t deny the feelings she has for Ryan, and her body certainly responds anytime he’s near, but she’s finally at a point in her life where her life long goal is about to be achieved. With her partners Lisa and Sharyn, she is opening a night club where people can live out their fantasies in a safe environment. Ryan can only see that Cierra is avoiding him at all costs and she can’t seem to make a “right” decision to save her life. Before they destroy their love, will Cierra relinquish some control in her life and will Ryan realize he doesn’t need to “fix” all Cierra’s problems.
Online role playing games have been around for a long time, but Cynnara Tregarth gives us a glimpse at the depths of relationships people develop playing them in ONLY A GAME OF THE HEART. Cierra is a woman who’s taken her past and learned from her mistakes, and pressed on with more determination each time she hurdles an obstacle. Ryan, though very typical of the alpha male, is easy to fall in love with despite his overbearing protectiveness. ONLY A GAME OF THE HEART is more than just a simple contemporary romance, bringing the world of RPG to the world of romance, Ms. Tregarth has hit the bullseye again.
