Lydia
Appleton is heading back to Lyndhurst,
England
for a
reunion with her old school chums. She
had to leave with her parents when they moved to the U.S.,
when she was a teenager. While she can’t
wait to see her dearest
friend, Daisy, it is the reunion with her first love, Gareth that has
her on
pins and needles. Memories of Gareth have
stayed with her all these years, what will happen when these two get
together
again?
Lydia return to England
and her meeting with Gareth
forces her to re-examine her feelings for Gareth and for Sam, the man
she is
contemplating a relationship with. Lydia
is a
normal adult woman. She has her
insecurities and she is searching for love. She
is not the teenager that was in love with
Gareth, but she has retained those memories and feelings.
Her perception of those memories has
prevented her from moving forward with her life. Gareth
comes across as a very shallow man who
flits from woman to woman. He is a
marvelous lover but doesn’t seem to have the maturity that is required
for a
life-long commitment or to sustain a relationship. However,
the author leaves no doubt that this
is Lydia’s
story and her journey to her future. Written from Lydia’s
perspective, this story was
a riveting read. This reader could fully
understand all her decisions, as she is a fully realized character.
This is the
first book in this series and we can only hope the next book will be
just as terrific
as this one. Ms. Kelly has created a
story that any woman can empathize with, and a heroine which we can
root for! Lyndhurst
and Lydia is a story filled with humor and eroticism – a
winning
combination that will provide an enjoyable read!!
