THE LAZARUS TRAP by Davis Bunn

Waking up dead may be the best thing that ever happened to Val Haines.

When Val wakes up in a jail cell, he has no idea who he is or what has happened. The police are calling him a name he’s never heard and asking about events that occur someplace Val, to his knowledge, has never been.

When the nightmares start occurring, Val starts piecing together the memories—an embezzlement, an accusation, and an explosion. When Val learns the world believes he’s dead, he is relieved to think he has a clean slate. He can walk away and try to create the type of life he’s always wanted. There is only one problem. Someone knows he’s alive and is pursuing him. Unfortunately, Val has no idea who they are. Will Val die before he discovers how to live?

THE LAZARUS TRAP is an interesting story. There are some point of view switches, which drew me out of the story, but all in all, THE LAZARUS TRAP drew my interest from page one and kept it through the end.

At first I didn’t know who Val was and couldn’t understand why everyone was crying over his death. But once I figured it out, I started to understand the story. THE LAZARUS TRAP may not appeal to non-mystery or suspense readers, but if you like a bit of a thriller in your reading, you won’t be disappointed by this book.
