HEARTS ARE WILD is a western erotic anthology that includes three very hot, very delightful stories. In the Prologue, three cousins Lily Whitman, Sabrina Gentry and Nicole Landford get together after their aunt’s birthday party and decide to throw their inhibitions out the window, have a fling with the “first man who trips their trigger.” Each cousin has her own story and you won’t want to miss a single one. Since Nicole is the wild child and doesn’t have any inhibitions, she has also promised to stick around for more than just a quick roll in the hay. WILD HEARTS is tied to Cheyenne McCray’s “WILD” series.
HEARTS AFIRE by Patrice Michelle
Frst up is Sabrina’s story. Sabrina is known as the middle of the road girl, the girl that always rides the fence, but she’s decided it might be more fun to ride something else. Sabrina has come to Texas to spend some time with her friend Elise Tanner at the Lonestar Ranch. Sabrina’s firefighter father was recently killed fighting a fire and she needs some time to get over the tragedy. The first two guys Sabrina meets are hunky cowboys and either one would do for her project, but when she meets Josh Kelly, he’s the one who “trips her trigger.” Josh is a cowboy, but he’s a firefighter first. His best friend was killed in a house fire and Josh has made it his life’s work to protect others from the dangers of fires. It doesn’t take Josh long to realize Sabrina is the woman for him. Will Josh be able to make Sabrina forget her vow to never fall for a firefighter? Could Josh give up his life’s work for a life with Sabrina?
Patrice Michelle does a great job with Sabrina’s story. I loved Sabrina and Josh. Their romance was romantic with very sensual and sometimes scorching love scenes. This is probably my favorite story of the three. Sexy but not overkill and the protagonists are a couple you wanted to have a happy ending.
WILD HEARTS by Cheyenne McCray
The second story is Nicole’s. Nicole is the wild child and while her goal is the same as her cousins, she has the added task of staying around for more than just a quick roll in the hay. Nicole’s car breaks down on her way to visit her friend Dean on Kev Grand’s property. She doesn’t want Kev’s help because he is the last man she wants to see. Kev is definitely one man that makes her blood boil…she thinks he’s plenty sexy, but he infuriates her because they can’t seem to agree on anything and he seems to enjoy making her mad. Kev is the last person Nic wants to get involved with, but it looks like he’s the guy to “trip her trigger”
Kev on the other hand, has wanted Nic for years, but has never gotten the chance to show her how good it could be between them. When Nic’s car breaks down on Kev’s property he takes full advantage of the situation and Nic. Will Nic give Kev chance?
Cheyenne McCray never disappoints by giving hotter than hot sex, characters you can’t help but love. Nic and Kev are so into each other, but fight it as long as the can before they are consumed by passion and lust…and eventually, love. WILD HEARTS does not leave the reader cold; it is funny, sexy and extremely hot.
BRANDED HEARTS by Nelissa Donovan
Finally we get Lily’s story. Lily is known to her cousins as “Lily White” because of her innocence. To get Lily going Sabrina and Nicole joined forces and money to buy Lily a vacation at a dude ranch in Montana. They dress her up in what she calls hooker clothes and off she goes. Upon arriving at the airport in Montana, Lily meets her ride to the Red Bear Ranch, but instead of going to the ranch, jumps out at the Last Chance Saloon to have a drink and loosen up. Shain Stevenson, owner of the Red Bear Ranch, has other ideas and when he sees Lily for the first time in her hooker clothes and all that blonde hair, he can’t resist her. She is in shock when she realizes this Shain is her “trigger tripper.” What Shain doesn’t realize is Lily’s innocence. Will he make an honest woman out of her?
Although this was my least favorite of the three stories, Nelissa Donovan did a great job telling Lily’s story. Shain was a little too caveman for me, but if you’re into that kind of thing you will definitely dig this story.
