Luce
Montgomery, loner, bounty hunter and searching for some integral
missing part
of her life that seems just out of reach, though she doesn’t know what
it
is. However, she KNOWS it’s NOT love, no
way. Love isn’t for her. All her life she’s had to prove herself time
and
again, and as a bounty hunter, she feels she has even more to prove. Her one dream is to open her own P.I. business
and is very close to obtaining her goal. This latest case should set
her up
financially to open her own business.
Luce heads to New Mexico
to capture Clyde Tafota, an accused murderer. Just when she has Tafota
in her
sights, takes him down and successfully handcuffs him, she’s surprised
to
realize that she has the wrong man.
Police
Chief Philip O’Donnaugh is someone that Luce never expected. While
they work
side by side to bring down Tafota, who is also wanted for a local
robbery, Luce
fights an attraction to O’Donnaugh unlike anything she’s ever felt
before. But
he’s not the man for her. He’s a live for today kind of guy, while she
has
dreams, plans for her own life.
Love isn’t
for her, picket fences and being tied down to one man is the last thing
she
needs or wants. Chasing bad guys is just
the thing for her. It’s really all she needs. Isn’t it? Then why does
she feel
that there is something still missing in her life?
Blue Jeans and a Badge is another wonderfully
exciting hit
from Nina Bruhns! The characters are
absolutely awesome. Luce and Philip are the kind of characters I enjoy
most -
determined, sassy, strong and memorable. Together they are terrific,
their
hearts are honest and they made for a great read. I love Nina Bruhns
writing
style and can say that she’s a favourite. I enjoy the tension that
builds
throughout her books, the drama that unfolds that just keeps me riveted
and the
vivid descriptions of landscapes and sceneries that she pens. I have
never been
to New Mexico,
someplace I have never given a thought to travel to, but Ms. Bruhns’
depictions
really captivated and made me feel as if I was already there (and now
interested in visiting!).
Fans of
Nina Bruhns might just find that Blue
Jeans and a Badge is her best yet.
I couldn’t decide, after reading her last tale – Ghost of a Chance – which I liked more. Blue Jeans and a Badge keeps a reader enthralled
from start
to finish. Suspense, romance, sassy characters, adrenaline rushes and
sexual
tension can be found within the pages.
This is another Nina Bruhns story that readers won’t
want to miss!
Romance is always hot and the best when written by the pen of this
talented
author.
