Brewster, North
Dakota, present time. Three people are facing questions and
challenges in their lives in this, the fourth book in the Coming Home
to
Brewster series.
Jan:
She
doesn’t like what she sees in the mirror…crow’s feet.
She is concerned her looks are fading, and
she will not be beautiful any longer.
Jan has always relied on her looks to get what she
wants up to this
point in her life.
Kenny:
He owns
the gas station in Brewster, has three children and a wife. He is more concerned with winning the
baseball game than he is with helping Diane with the kids.
He isn’t lazy, he just does not want to grow
up and take responsibility for his family or their future.
Ida:
She is
Kenny’s elderly aunt and has somewhat of an independent streak in her. She has been praying for Kenny since he was
born. She always wants Kenny to come to
her house and fix things. He doesn’t
always get there when she wants him to.
When unexpected events
happen in their lives, they
discover they have more in common with each other than they thought. They also discover God works in surprising
and unexpected ways, which will have a big impact in their future.
I really enjoyed reading
this book on several
levels. You understood the characters
feelings. These characters could be
someone
you know in your life; they are every day, down to earth people. When they are forced to look at their lives
and make changes to it, you cheer them on.
If you have read the other books in this series, you
most definitely
will want to read Always Jan.
