Catherine
Benning fell for Sheikh Hakim bin Omar al Kadar with her whole heart
soon after
meeting him. After a whirlwind romance, he proposes to her and she
readily
accepts. More blissfully happy than she has ever been, Catherine is
nervous and
excited to travel home with him to begin their life together. However, soon after arriving to Hakim’s
homeland, Catherine realizes her whirlwind romance was one-sided, that
Hakim
had wooed her because he bought her. Can Catherine accept her life now
as
Hakim’s wife when he doesn’t love her?
Hakim’s
goal was to court and then marry Catherine Benning. After all, he and
her
father had made the bargain that she would be his wife.
But the more Hakim got to know Catherine, he
found her to be more than he thought. She’s smart, passionate and would
make a
wonderful wife at his side. Not wanting
to lose her, Hakim still marries her without telling her the truth. He
hopes
that he can make her fall in love with him while they are married and
then he
can confess, hoping that her love for him would help her forgive him.
Has
Hakim’s deception ruined any chance for a happily-ever-after with
Catherine?
Lucy Monroe
once again writes a very pleasing and powerful romance for her fans.
With
amazing sensuality and heat between Hakim and Catherine, readers are
engaged in
this story from the very beginning. Both of these characters are
memorable.
Catherine really shines as a strong and determined woman when she
learns the
real reason behind her marriage. She
takes the information and wages “war” with the Sheikh.
It was delightful to watch everything play
out. I have to confess that I have not always been a fan of Sheikh
heroes
because of their sometimes high-handed ways, etc, but Sheikh’s as
written by
Lucy Monroe are addicting and pleasurable.
No one
writes contemporary romance like this author. The
Sheikh’s Bartered Bride is just another reason on a long
list, why I read her work over and over again!
