Kayleigh
McConnell has always believed in love and happily-ever-after. Times
have been
hard for Kayleigh, especially the last couple of years since her
parents died.
Her brother Matt has become sullen, an alcoholic, she works hard to
keep their
home, when all she really wants to do is find the right man to take
care of her
for a change and tend to the precious rose garden her mother planted
long
before her death. Losing hope that there
is a man out there for her, Kayleigh is surprised when she falls for a
stranger
in town who captures her attention and heart immediately. The only
problem is
that he’s not going to be in town long. Should Kayleigh risk her heart
for a
few days of happiness, only to lose it when he’s gone?
Fae Rose
Prince of AAran, Diarmuid McNamarra only has a couple of weeks to find
the
mortal woman to save him. When his best friend, Cathal, was taken by
the Sea
Witch, Diarmuid struck a bargain with her that he could find a mortal
woman to
fall in love with him and she would return with him of her own free
will, to
ensure Cathal’s freedom. But if Diarmuid did not succeed and the mortal
woman
did not return with him of her own free will, Diarmuid’s life would end. The moment he sees Kayleigh McConnell,
Diarmuid wants to spend the rest of his life with her. But would
Kayleigh be
able to leave her brother and friends behind? Diarmuid can’t tell her a
thing
about his bargain with the Sea Witch, but can she fall in love with him
to save
him? What will become of the Rose Prince?
A beautiful
fantasy tale, enriched with romance, profound characters and smooth as
silk
words written by Samantha Reynolds makes A
Kiss from the Rose a one sitting read.
This romance is creatively blended with a bit of
intrigue and curiosity
to find out what will happen between Kayleigh and Diarmuid, especially
if he
doesn’t tell her about the bargain he made. This story invokes tears,
smiles
and rapid heartbeats as the characters fall in love. Ms. Reynolds story
is
romance through and through, and the passionate love scenes are few and
not as
overly graphic, which makes a nice change from the usual releases from
this
publisher today. The actual story of A Kiss from the Rose takes up
ninety percent of this story, the love scenes are an added bonus.
While I say
that though, I will admit that one of my favourite scenes that set the
heart
pounding, was the “love among the roses” scene, as I term it so not to
tell
readers too much of the story. They will have to read it to see what I
am
talking about. This scene that I refer to is magical with romance and
so
poignant; I had tears in my eyes while reading it. I could feel
Kayleigh’s
wonder and happiness during this scene, which Ms. Reynolds poignantly
wrote
with vivid descriptions.
Readers
will never look at roses in quite the same way again after reading A Kiss from the Rose. It is
highly recommended. This story has a place waiting on my bookshelf for
the day
it goes to print. I’m hoping it happens.
