Callie Callahan has been a captive of the government for several years. During which experiments were conducted on her because if her resistance to a virus affecting only women. Now she is hiding out from everyone including her ex-fiancé, Luke Outlaw. When Luke comes back into her life unexpectedly, her love for him and her fears for their future cause her to struggle with what she wants.

Luke Outlaw thinks he must be dreaming when he once again lays eyes on Callie. He is overjoyed at being reunited with her as well as hurt that she didn’t initiate their reunion. But his bruised feelings are not going to prevent him from doing everything in his power to make sure that Callie is safe from danger and that she won’t leave him again. Luke is willing to contemplate ideas that he never before imagined in order to keep Callie by his side.

THE CLAIMING is a wonderful story that takes readers into a world that they will find alien from the world we currently live in and yet on a primal level to be intriguing. The story is well written it will capture the attention of readers and keep them turning pages until they reach the conclusion of the story. This is the first Jan Springer story I’ve read and I can tell you, it won’t be my last.
