Dr. Arlissa Spence is exceptional in her field of robotics, but when it comes to men and love she need all the help she can get. She spends all her time on her current project, Adonis 5000, the nickname for the robot Advanced Defense Neuro System. Even though Adonis has the face made from the composite of a thousand different faces, eerily he looks like Arlissa’s boss, Segrin Cayce.
Segrin Cayce has kept his distance from Arlissa throughout the Adonis 5000 project, but when she delays the final reveal to the board members, he’s surprised and thrilled to find that Arlissa’s pet project looks like him. Cayce wastes no time taking advantage of Arlissa’s supposed obsession and seduces her out of her lab coat.
The spark between Arlissa and Cayce is so real that no toy or robot could ever take precedence. When Adonis goes missing and Arlissa’s assistant is found murdered, Arlissa and Cayce must find Adonis before Cayce Industries is destroyed and Arlissa dead.
ADONIS 5000 brings sensuality to the science field. Ann Vremont writes intense sex scenes and packs a lot of passionate punch in this quickie. The only detractor was I really didn’t get a sense of what Adonis was made for in the first place. Despite the vagueness of the robot, ADONIS 5000 is a fun quick read.
