Khyffhen
has a deep-seated bias toward the Kinn.
They had taken his HalfKin brother Senth at birth,
drove his mother to
suicide and landed him in a lifetime of slavery. Khyff
is free due to the help of his soon to
be sister-in-law and current boss. He is
head of security for FWO. For Women Only
is a security team that caters to famous female personalities from all
walks of
life. To save Senth and NarrAy Khyff
will have to seduce a visiting Kin ambassador.
This isn’t a difficult task for a former sex slave. Khyff however, badly scarred during his last
few days as a slave, he cannot tolerate being touched.
Mehfawni is
a proud Kin warrior princess who has been chosen as the Ambassador to
Destroiya
the Conqueror. With a few years to go
before she is of breeding age, she is given carte-blanche to sample the
human
(and non-human) wares that she will encounter on this liberated,
diverse
planet. She is drawn to the human, Khyff,
who was wronged by her family so many years ago. Although
she knows that a future for them is
impossible, this does not stop her from living what time she has with
him to
the fullest.
Ms. Allen
has both feet firmly planted in her futuristic alternate world. The true genius of Ms. Allen shows in the
details of FOR WOMEN ONLY. Things like
refrigerator magnets that flash the daily specials from local
restaurants,
races of beings that based loosely on felines, hybrid, fabricated
beings called
Betters whose pheromones can entice, enslave and addict you. In the Kin world females rule, men are
strictly for breeding and raising children.
Not to sound feminist or anything, but I liked
looking into this
alternate reality and seeing the shoe on the other foot, so to speak. Khyff is a deeply scarred, scared man. His struggle with his fears becomes clear as
the story unfolds. Fawni is a strong
female character, who knows that her place in this world is on top. Ms. Allen does a great job creating a world
where females hold most of the cards and males are primarily for
pleasure. I usually avoid science fiction
stories as a
rule. They are difficult to understand
for the most part and a lot of the time there are glaring mistakes
where the
author just couldn’t keep their ‘worlds’ straight.
I was delighted to find that this was not the
case with FOR WOMEN ONLY. Ms. Allen
knows her planets and breeds inside out.
This awesome, sexy read has made me wish I could
visit Tarth.
