Angel Rogers is grieving over her father’s recent death, it happened too quickly, and with Mama already passed Angel has no one.
After burying father, Angel keeps his death on the quiet. Her father’s ranch is on a prime piece of real estate, sitting as it does on the only water in the area. Angel knows ranchers will do anything to ensure survival of their herds, and when they discover she’s alone, it’s only a matter of time before someone will try to take it away.
It doesn’t help matters that Angel’s ranch is the sole sheep farm while the others are cattlemen. And, the cattle guys don’t see worth in the fur-balls that, in their opinion, strip the land of needed nourishment. Enemies from the start these nemeses will fight to the death for the rights of their breed.
Angel is not afraid. She trusts God for everything in her life. From the food that she eats to the clothes (non-traditional as they are) she wears. Her father instilled a sense of pride and she has common sense enough to push useless traditions aside and use whatever she can to survive. But, sometimes, even though her faith is strong, it sometimes seems as if God’s eyes are closed and His ears turned from her.
Can this unconventional sheep rancher survive in the hostile environment created by cut-throat cattle ranchers? And, will she be able to discern what it is the Lord wants for her to do? Will her faith be enough to ward off the evil that lurks closer each day?
Spring of My Love is the best of the Silver Hills Trilogy. Angel Rogers is a feisty, strong heroine who isn’t afraid of harsh circumstances or heavy work. The settings are real you can almost smell the dust in the air and feel the heavy air on your skin. Anyone who enjoys historicals, suspense, mystery, westerns, or romances is going to like this book.
